Parnassus is one of the most beautiful mountains in Greece, stealing the show for its rich vegetation and rare natural beauty. Here you can find the Parnassos Ski Resort, the biggest ski resort in Greece, built at an altitude of 1,640-2,260 meters. It features 23 slopes, 7 ski routes, 5 connecting trails and 4 mini slopes with a baby lift for beginners. The routes cover all levels of difficulty, so the visitors have the opportunity to enjoy adventure by skiing or snowboarding, while those who want an adrenaline-booster there are also “dark” routes outside the slope. If this is your first time trying this sport, professional instructor will guide you with lessons. All the slopes are certified by the International Ski Federation for the organization of international competitions. The Parnassos Ski Resort is 180 km away from Athens and 30 km away from Arachova, the popular winter resort.
One of the oldest and most remarkable ski resorts in the country is located at mount Velouchi, at Diavolotopos. At an altitude of 2,315 meters, there is a ski resort ideal for the lovers of skiing and snowboarding, with 18 high-standard slopes, separated in colour zones depending on the level of difficulty and the visitor’s demands. Children and beginners enjoy the green zone, basic skiers the blue one, while the most experienced and daring skiers can descent the black routes. At the ski resort you will find a chalet to rent or buy ski equipment, a bar offering view of the slopes and a mountaineering shelter where the visitors can stay. The Ski Resort is 10 km away from Karpenissi, while the distance from Athens is 298 km.
